​GRADING ART
 
Directions                  To be successful with each project; the stated outcomes must be reached. This
                                     may Include style, medium, subject matter, and/or the process  used.

​Completeness          The entire picture space should be used for positive and negative space
                                    (foreground /background). Shapes should be enclosed. Patterns and colors
                                    should completely fill an area. The style should be accurately applied.
 
Clarity                         All colors and patterns should be consistent throughout an area. Edges Should
                                    be clearly defined. Enough detail should be used to hold a viewer’s interest.
                                    There should be a contrast in values (lightness/darkness). A viewer should be able                                       to clearly see everything at a distance of 10 feet.
 
Creativity                   Did the student explore new solutions? This may be applying the directions in a
                                    new way, finding a unique way to use a tool, or discovering a new style.
